What helps us list a group
The suburb or neighbourhood, the day and time the group meets, and the venue name are the three details readers look for first. A community hall, a library side room or a church annexe is enough of a venue. If the group already has a phone number, include it so people can check before travelling.
Access and transport notes
Step-free entry, nearby parking and a bus stop within walking distance are worth mentioning when you know them. So is the length of the walk from the gate to the room. If you are unsure about any of this, leave it out rather than guess. We would rather publish a shorter listing than a misleading one.
Materials and shared costs
Craft mornings and hobby circles often ask members to bring their own supplies, while some keep a shared box of tools or a tea tin. Board game afternoons may have a small kitty for biscuits. Tell us how your group handles this and we will note it plainly, without turning it into a rule.
Photos of the venue
A photo of the meeting room or the entrance helps people recognise the place on the day. Only send images you have permission to share, and avoid pictures where members are clearly identifiable unless they have agreed. If you have no photo, that is fine. Many listings run without one.
What we cannot publish
We do not list groups that charge a joining fee to appear, and we do not publish private home addresses as meeting points. If a group is closed to new members, say so and we will hold the entry until that changes. We also cannot confirm a listing is still running unless someone tells us.
The result we are after
A listing that lets someone in your area decide, in under a minute, whether they can get there and whether it sounds like their kind of morning. That is the whole aim. Send what you have and we will shape the rest.
